    Hi Dawn.
The symptoms of 2009 H1N1 flu virus in people include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea. People may be infected with the flu, including 2009 H1N1 and have respiratory symptoms without a fever. Severe illnesses and deaths have occurred as a result of illness associated with this virus.

While your symptoms suggest flu (and it IS flu season), they don’t suggest a specific flu. Although nausea, vomiting & diarrhea are often symptoms of novel H1N1 flu, they don’t present with everyone who has it.
It’s no longer called “swine flu”. I suppose there’s a 50/50 chance that you have novel H1N1 flu . There’s also a 50% chance you have seasonal H1N1, H3N2 or type B. But what does it matter? They’re treated the same way. You don’t need to go to the doctor. You don’t have smallpox. It’s just the flu.

    Swine Flu Symptoms
According to the CDC, like seasonal flu, symptoms of swine flu infections can include:
fever, which is usually high, but unlike seasonal flu, is sometimes absent
    cough
    runny nose or stuffy nose
    sore throat
    body aches
    headache
    chills
fatigue or tiredness, which can be extreme
diarrhea and vomiting, sometimes, but more commonly seen than with seasonal flu

  5. Los Ojos says:

Well by the middle of winter in Australia they stopped testing everyone with flu like symptoms because 3/4 of them had swine flu. They only tested you if you were seriously ill in hospital.
If swine flu has really taken a hold in your country then more than likely you have swines rather than the normal flu.

Your symptoms sound like it, but I am not a doctor, you can’t wait. go and see the doctor. They can test you for H1N1 fast. All they do is get a small sample of your saliva.

  9. Rebecca says:

Sounds like the flu. Since it is spreading so fast, I would assume it is H1N1.
Most people with it are complaining of a dry cough, high fever and headaches.

    everything you need to knowhttp://www.cdc.gov/H1N1flu/qa.htm

  11. Missy says:

    probably.
don’t freak out though, you aren’t going to die from it, so its no big deal. i know several people who have had it, it’s just like a normal flu.

  12. blahblah says:

it does sound like you could have it. I’ve heard it does come on very fast.

  13. Bravo to world says:

Yes you have some positive symptoms.

  14. Judy says:

Yes that does sound like a possibility that you do have H1N1. You can take 2 Ibuprofen for fever and pain for comfort measures while you wait to see your doctor. Also try some method I read about quite a while back and that is to prevent the H1N1 virus attacking you. I would think just doing this simple easy habit everyday will help flush this out of your system. A doctor who is head of the Nuclear Medicine Department suggested to do this to prevent getting the swine flu/H1N1 virus and also says it is every bit as good as having the vaccine.
Gargle twice a day with warm salt water. Cleanse your nasal passages with warm salt water and you can use Q-tips dipped into the salt water solution or a squirt bulb. Do this at least once a day. By doing this you are preventing the virus entering into the only portals of entry, your nose, mouth and throat. Wash your hands very frequently and keep them clean. Do not touch your face except only to eat food. Drink as much water and other fluids as you possibly can consume and this will act the same way as Gargling except in the reverse direction washing off your tongue and passing it through your throat and into the stomach where it cannot survive and cannot proliferate and cannot do you any further harm. Take Vitamin C supplements with Zinc to absorb into your system faster and also eat a lot of Vitamin C enriched foods to help boost your immunity system. I have used this method for quite a while and feel very well and I think it will also help you pass the flu that you now have out of your system if you can get into this easy and simple habit everyday. Continue to do it even when you are well. I would take the 2 Ibuprofen and keep your fever down and get a lot of needed rest and comfort. I sincerely hope you feel better soon. Good Luck.

think it looks like you are just getting a cold. if you want to read more about the symptoms of swine flu, they are explained in this article: http://pediatrics.about.com/od/swineflu/…
You need to now make sure you dont prolonge your cold or even the flu, so first thing is cleaning, and secondly taking care of yourself. Of course second one is more important :P
    Cleaning:
Wipe down the following with anti-bacterial type wipes: Door knobs (esp bathrooms), drawer handles, your computer, the desk you work on, light switches, the handle of the kettle and the handle of the fridge.
Other things (apart from cleaning) and more importantly:
Make you stay warm – keep checking your body temperature.
Buy something like lemsip (hot drink for cold and flu) or buy http://www.healthchemist.co.nz/nasal-spr… This is really good – have a quick read.
Buy throat lozenges (honey and lemon ones). Make sure you keep blowing your nose so that you dont get a head cold (if you are feeling stuffy). Drink LOTS and LOTS of water.
Try and make, then drink the following: Hot water, with squeezed lemon (1 teaspoon) with 1 tablespoon honey. Drink lots of this.
Have LOTS of fruits – buy vitamin C tablets (you can also buy chewable ones). Or buy these tablets (or something similar to them): http://www.chemist.co.nz/product.cfm?Pro… Its honestly really good.
Drink lots of Echinecea tea (tastes nice too).
If you do start to feel a bit sick, rest HEAPS – just sleep for a few hours. Make sure you nap everyday for 1 hour so that your body rests. Do this for 3 days. You really need to sleep more.
These are just precautions that I recommend to avoid getting the cold – or at least reduce the symptoms or decrease the duration of the cold.
Oh andd, gargle warm water (mixed with salt) once a day.
If your thoart starts hurting, try this: To help your throat specifically, I have a home-made formula that will REALLY HELP:
    1) Boil Sprite (lemonade) with pieces of ginger
    2) While boiling, half way through, add 1 teaspoon of squeezed lemon and 1 tablespoon of honey
    3) Remove the ginger (if you dont like it)
    DRINK!
    Seriously, best cure for throats
