Has any of your children experienced any side effects after the H1N1 mist vaccine? This could be coincidental a not associated with the vaccine however my normally healthy 3 year old daughter had the h1n1 mist shot 3 weeks ago. Within 2 days she has experienced several symptoms of “something”. At first it was runny nose which then went to cough, sore throat, very high fevers, micro blood and protein in urine. Each symptom appears to come an go. (ex: high fevers first week and then again on 3rd week which last about 2 days each time). At the current time the normally hyper child is very exhausted (not lethargic) and has diarrhea and is showing no other symptoms today.
Of course we have had several doctor visits: 1st time assumed Strep- Negative. 2nd time assumed Urinary Tract Infection _ negative, Blood work has come back fine. Chest Xrays for Pneumonia – fine. We just got word the next step it to get her to a local childrens hospital so specialist can view her.
I will certainly keep you all posted however am curious if anyone has seen similar?
My kids have never had a vaccine reaction because they’ve never been vaccinated.
But if you’d like to read reports of adverse reactions from vaccines, you can do so at http://www.medalerts.org At that website you can search VAERS reports. (Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System). http://www.cdc.gov/vaccinesafety/00_pdf/…
I did a search for you at medalerts for H1N1 mist adverse reactions in children ages 2 years to 5 years. Here are the results. http://medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.p… There are only 134 records so far for that age group because reporting to VAERS is voluntary, and most people don’t even know it exists.
I encourage you to make a report to VAERS.
There was a recall of some doses in Virginia, but it was because they were too weak and therefore should not result in problems. There is, in general, a major movement advising against any vaccination at all, saying that it is dangerous.
Well, I don’t have any children, but some people from the health department came to my school to give the vaccinations to people who’s parents wanted them to get it. They gave both the mist and shot. People had their choice of which, but the majority of people that got sick chose the mist over the shot, but they got sick a short time after getting it. I’m not sure if anyone got sick a day or two afterwards but it is possible. Still I didn’t see anyone with side effects like you mentioned on that day. Anyway, that’s all I can say. There’s not much else. I’m sorry your daughter is sick, and I really hope she gets better.
