BENEFITS OF BEING A GLOBAL MEDICAL TOURIST

Medical tourism has taken the world by a storm. Not only is it benefiting the global medial tourist, in need of quality care, but also helping boost the economy of nations offering it. For the past decade or so, this trend has evolved into a full-fledged industry in itself, almost like a multi-million dollar one. But, no one’s minding it, as it has proved to be a win-win situation for both parties, the patient as well as the caregiver. All thanks to technological advancements, scientific breakthrough and improved standards of healthcare and hygiene, medical tourism in its wake has generated thousands of jobs. We understand that the medical system in the developed world is quite advanced, but what good are these advancements if can’t help the needy? Along with rising improvements in healthcare sector, the prices have also risen sharply, making it just impossible for the average citizen to even think of availing them. This particularly holds true about nations such the United States of America and the United Kingdom. What also ails the middle class out there is the underinsured problem. H1n1 And Vaccine After Being Exposed?

I am 24 weeks pregant and have been exposed to H1N1 by a co-worker who missed two days ill and showed up to work totally sick as a dog. We made her go home after she said they confirmed her to have a H1N1 influenza and the doctor advised her to remain home for 7+ days. She said she can’t afford to miss that many days. Well I can’t afford to get swine flu being pregnant and all. If you would have seen how sick she was it was terrifying. She was totally on the brink of pneumonia. I also work with customers all day and handle money. I have a 5 year old who has asthma, and a 15 month old (healthy girl). I have never gotten flu shots and was totally against getting h1n1 vaccine and I am skeptical of all government aided tactics. However now that I have been exposed I am more skeptical of the flu than the vaccine. I am starting to think a little mercury can’t hurt too much. We are of a fishing family and eat fish weekly probably being exposed to higher levels continuously. Kids at my son’s school and even my son one month ago have all had symptoms similar, and a few students have confirmed cases of h1n1. School attendance has been crazy here. I am vaccinating my whole family now and want to know if others feel the same.

Is It Possible To Tell The Difference Between Seasonal Flu And H1n1 Without Being Tested?

I know this person at work who claims to have been sick with H1N1. I asked if they had been tested for it because from what I understand that is the only way to tell the difference between the strains. This person said no that they were not tested. The NP only presumed that I have H1N1. Not that it matters since treatment and symptoms are identical anyway. But is it really possible to tell the difference without being tested? I don’t think it is.

How Soon After Being Infected By H1n1…?

I volunteered at the hospital today and someone who I believed had the swine flu sneezed all over my desk. Yuck.
IF I was indeed exposed, when would I start feeling symptoms? When should I get tested?

Do I Have The Swine Flu Or Am I Being Paranoid?

I know all the symptoms of H1N1 swine flu, such as runny nose, diarrhea, fever, etc. 2 of my friends from school have swine flu right now, and I am a 14 year old. I know it is most common in young adults. Anyways, I have a sore throat, little bit of a fever, lack of appetite (havent eaten in a day,) coughing, and nausea. Do you think I should see a doctor about this or am I just being paranoid?

Can You Have H1n1 With The Only Symptoms Being Body Aches And A Cough?

My brother (who lives with me), came down with H1N1 a few days ago, and over the last couple of days, I’ve came down slight cough and some slight body aches, but otherwise I feel fine and am not running a fever. Could I have caught H1N1 with just these slight symptoms, and if so, do I need to go ahead and go to the doctor to get tested or should I just wait 1st to see if it gets worse?
