How can I overcome my fear of gynecology exams?
I know this sounds crazy but I am so afraid of making a phone call to set up an appointment with an ob/gyn that I literally cannot do it.Even saying the word gyenecologist and vagina out loud is hard for me to do without hiding and im a married 27 yr old! I feel childish and ashamed but im really shy about that part of my body its so intimate, I am suffering from some sort of problem down below,it smells bad,itches and burns when I pee.I am afraid to go,im ashamed of my body.I am obese and have hairy legs as well…..IAM SO EMBARRESSED PLEASE HELPPPPPPPPPPP

I Went To My Ob/gyn For An Annual Exam. She Said I Was Normal In A Gynecology Sense, I Need Some Answers.?
after my mamogram and papsmear my doctor said I was normal, but we discussed some symptoms I have had and she said something like post glandral syndrome? I have never heard of that. I then asked her about endometriosis since I have been throwing up the night before my periods and having really bad back pain. She gave me a 3 months sample of seasonique the new birth control. has anyone used this? she said I could have endometriosis? How exactly do you get tested for that?

First Gynecology Exam?
I am getting ready to schedule my 1st exam with the gynecologist and I am very nervous. I am 22 and have been kept putting it off for a few years now. I am nervous about even calling and making an appointment. I have no idea what to expect when I go. This may sound silly, but does anyone have any advice that may help calm my nerves?

I Have Exam In 15-1-2009 In Obstetrics And Gynecology And I Need Somebody Help Me How To Reed?
I’m confused– you have an exam in two weeks, so you’ve been in the class for some time now. OB-GYN is not taught at a grade school level. You can correctly spell ‘obstetrics’ and ‘gynecology’, but you can’t spell “read”.
While you may need help, it isn’t in basic literacy, or you couldn’t have asked the question. Are you physically unable to see, and need a ‘reader’ for the exam? If so, that could almost certainly be arranged through the school, and under the Americans with Disabilities Act the school has to provide you with appropriate assistance. What help are you actually looking for?

What Should I Expect During My 1st Gynecology Exam?
If its your first one ever: You get introduced to your doctor, the doctor asks you about any meds you take, health problems, last time you had your period, if you are sexually active. Then the doctor will leave the room and you have to get into a hospital gown (you have to take all your clothes off bra and panties included). Then the doctor will come back it, do a quick breast examination (they just feel your breast for lumps and let you know how to do the same at home) then they have you sit up on the exam table and they usually do a pap smear (which check all your levels that sort of thing) and might check for any STD’s (if you tell them to) and they talk to you about birth control options.
