I Have The H1n1 Virus, What Do I Do Now?
by admin
I took my nine week old son to the emergency room because her gad a temperature of 101.6. After taking some test, he was found to have the H1N1 virus. The doctor also told me that she thought that was what he had because of the symptoms I had. I’ve been giving him Tylenol and breast feeding him so he could get my antibodies. What should I do for myself? Do I have to get the Tamiflu vaccine?

Exposure To H1n1 Virus?
by admin
Last month one of our employees fell ill with the flu, which developed into pneumonia. He passed away from the complications a week after contracting the virus. An autopsy performed confirmed that he had been infected with the H1N1 virus and the cause of death was pneumonia. He was 46 years old so he didn’t fall into the “target group” for the vaccine.
I guess my question is if he worked up to the day he started exhibiting symptoms, then stayed home thereafter until his passing, how much of a risk does it pose to me and my coworkers having been exposed to him beforehand? Others have had other illness during that time (one had a sinus infection, one had pneumonia but worked while he had it, one had a stomach virus). We’re not sure if any of these secondary type infections were due to others contracting the flu or just a coincidence.
How long is the virus active in the environment and can infect others? None of us fall within the target group for initial vaccination so we’re SOL for getting a vaccination right now.
WIth all the press going on I can’t figure out how long the virus is active, how long you have to be exposed to it to become sick, etc. I have not been sick despite others being ill around me. These days, people tend to work while they are sick instead of staying home. I wish I could thank our late coworker for having the foresight to stay home during his illness and not putting us at further risk. He was in and out of the hospital during the week he was ill but passed away at home from what we were told.

The cough I have feels like it is coming from my chest and when I press the middle of my chest it hurts. Although I have all these symptoms and I don’t feel very sick. Do you think I have H1N1? What In Your Opinion Can “cure All Symtoms Of The Desease” That Is The H1n1 Swine Flu Virus ?
by admin
i’ve heard about diehard soccer fans but this tops the score..
Russian soccer fans have been told to drink whisky on their trip to Wales for next month’s World Cup qualifier to ward off the H1N1 swine flu virus, the head of the country’s supporter association (VOB) said on Monday.
“We urge our fans to drink a lot of Welsh whisky as a form of disinfection,” VOB head Alexander Shprygin told Reuters.
“That should cure all symptoms of the disease.”
Russia’s Health Ministry has issued a public warning against travelling to Britain because of the spread of the H1N1 virus but Shprygin said he expected at least several hundred fans would go to Wales for the Sept. 9 qualifier in Cardiff.
“Health officials say this virus is very dangerous but being a fan myself I can tell you that for a real fan nothing is more important than the well-being of the team,” said Shprygin, who also sits on the executive board of the Russian FA.
“Russian fans don’t fear anything or anybody so this virus will not stand in our way of supporting our team.”
The Russian FA also said health issues should not prevent fans from travelling.
“We don’t want our team to be without any support for such an important match so we urge our fans to go to Wales despite the health warning,” a spokesman said.
Germany lead European Group Four with 16 points from six games, one ahead of Russia, with Wales in fourth place on nine points from seven matches.

What Are The H1n1 (swine Flu) Virus Stages?
by admin
For those who have or have had H1N1:
I have been researching this for some time now and hear so many different things regarding this virus. My daughter became ill with H1N1 on Monday September 28th and was officially diagnosed on Thursday. Her doctor was unable to provide Tamaflu to her because of a shortage in the 60mg dose. However he stated he felt she was near the end of it. I realize it lasts 7-10 days and currently we are on day 4-5. Her symptoms are now slightly different and I have alerted her doctor to them they are: Diarreah, Stomach Ache, Medium Head Ache. The head ache has not gone away and no pain meds help, her stomach we are treating with Pepto as directed. I guess I am wondering what is the frist stage of H1N1 and what are the latter parts nearing the end. Her fever has subsided for 2 days now. It began abruptly with a 104 fever for 2 days fever would not break, flu like symptoms, no diarreah and has progessed downward until the diarreah hit.

Whats The Incubation Period Of This Virus (swine Or A New Strain Of H1n1 Influenza A Virus)?
by admin
Interesting – a new strain of H1N1 influenza A viru.
I wonder what the incubation period is?
How many days BEFORE one has symptoms are they unaware and in public, and therefore spreading the virus.
For instance, I understand the HIV pathology shows that a person with HIV can be spreading the disease for 6 months before he/she can be diagnosed.
Generally, viruses are spreadable for a certain number of days before the patient KNOWS they have an illness. I wonder what that period is for this new strain of H1N1 influenza A virus.
It appears that one CSULB student is confined with an “apparent” swine flu and is being confined til proven positive or false. Meanwhile another student said that last Friday she had been in class and coughing all over the place.
Of course- as with any virus or illness, exposure doesnt mean you will get it.
Pasteur on his death bed said that he was wrong – the pathogens werent the main players, the “terrain” was.
Summing it up- the super healthy will ward it off because they have great terrain. (and thats what an Immune system is for!)
And in any flu passing through, thats why the very young and the very old are the usual ones to die.
Officially we are supposed to stay 6 feet away from each other- and wash our hands long enough to sing the entire Happy Birthday song.
I am probably living on the edge- I kissed my hubby on the mouth without brushing my teeth, Then we each went through a loud pantomime of coughing and hacking and spitting and kissed again. Monogamy does have its priviledges,
I am also thinking that there must be plenty of cases where people dont report their flu. If I was sick with a fever and flu-like symptoms, I would be too sick to sit in a doctors office to wait my turn. I wouldnt go to an ER because knowing I was in a weakened state, I wouldnt want to be in proximity of people even MORE sick.
So there have to be more cases around that dont get to the place of diagnosis or “counting”.
ANYWAY – whats the incubation/spreadable period before symptoms begin?
Anyone know?

Do I Have The H1n1 Virus? Will It Kill Me? How Long For Recovery?
by admin
I’m a fifteen year old girl in Illinois. I am having symptoms similar to those experienced by people who had H1N1. I started not feeling so good on Monday, but it was only muscle and joint aches. Yesterday, just out of the blue, I got this really bad headache. I started having chills and my muscles and joints just hurt like nothing else. I took some generic night time medicine stuff and it knocked me out for a few hours. About an hour after I woke up it started all over again, only more mild. I am not having diarrhea, vomiting, or a sore throat. I am not having trouble breathing, and my chest and abdomen area don’t hurt or feel like there is pressure put on them. My stomach doesn’t hurt. I am having sort of a dry cough, but it’s not bad. My body temperature ranges from 99.5 – 100 degrees. The headache went away for the most part, but it comes and goes. It hurts most when I look at bright things and when I look up. I don’t take any regular medications and I don’t have a chronic illness. I sometimes have chills and sometimes start sweating. Could it just be the seasonal flu? Or a cold? Could it be severe PMS, because I’m also having tenderness in my breasts and I am supposed to start my period this weekend? If it is H1N1, how long does it last for? How should I treat it? Will it kill me? Will it kill me suddenly? I have been researching this subject and and my mind is still not at ease. Please, someone help me. I don’t want to die.

Do I Have The H1n1 Virus?
by admin
I can’t afford to go get swabed for the flu, so I’m asking here. Here are my symptoms:
low-grade fever
chills and body aches
sore throat
runny nose
vomiting
cough
chest tightness/shortness of breath
I have had these symptoms for over a week. They got better, and then they got worse again. Also, I am in the target age range for H1N1 – 24.
