Our area had many cases of the swine flu. It takes around 36 hours after exposure to when you come down with symptoms. The first symptom seems to be a severe headache. It is followed by a fever (usually rather low, although some people have a high one), vomitting or diareaha for approximately 20 hours (the younger you are, the more you vomit it seems), then a cold-like symptoms arise and last for about 10 days. During that time, you have mild fever off and on, persistant coughing, runny and stuffy nose. Generally, you just feel more tired. I believe my whole family got it and that we passed it on to my brother, sister, and mother, although none of us were tested but we know of many people sick at the same time with the same symptoms that did get tested and they ALL came back as positive for H1N1. I was really worried about H1N1 but I am not now as I do sincerely believe we had it and nothing bad happened to us.
